Youth Orientation

To use the gym or attend group fitness a Youth Orientation must be arranged. Simply drop-in or call the centre to arrange an orientation at no cost. The orientation takes 30-60 minutes, and parent/guardian attendance is mandatory.

About the orientation

A Youth Orientation is required for Active Youth members between 13 and 15 years old who want to use the gym. They are designed to ensure a safe and supportive training environment. The orientation takes 30 – 60 minutes and parent / guardian attendance is mandatory.

The orientation covers:

  • Rules and etiquette expectations in the gym
  • Gym rules
  • Active Youth must not allow non-members into the gym
  • Be respectful of other members
  • Setting an exercise program that must be followed
  • Outline parent / guardian expectations
  • Permissions and acceptance of risks of both the parent / guardian and member
  • A basic health assessment to identify potential risk factors of participation.
