Fleurieu Aquatic Centre Nominated for National Award
Fitness Australia, the national peak industry association, has announced the Fleurieu Aquatic Centre is a Quality Accredited Fitness Business of the Year Finalist in the 2020 Australian Fitness Awards.
CEO of Fitness Australia, Barrie Elvish, explains that the Australian Fitness Awards provide a great opportunity for businesses and individuals to be acknowledged for their contribution to the industry and the impact they have in their communities.
“Every finalist has shown incredible commitment to supporting those in their communities to live an active lifestyle, whether it is through professional development to ensure they are providing clients with safe and quality services, or creating community programs which break down barriers to participation and encourage involvement across a diverse range of different groups,” he said.
The Quality Accredited Business of the Year is the highest award available for fitness businesses. It is awarded to the Centre which receives the highest accreditation score as assessed by Improvement Foundation and endorsed by the Fitness Industry Standards Council and Fitness Australia Board.
James Lomax, Fleurieu Aquatic Centre Manager says, “being recognised as a finalist for Business of the Year is an honour. It’s testament to the YMCA and the local team’s dedication to excellence and delivering a Centre which is well used and loved by the community.”
The 2020 Australian Fitness Awards include 10 awards categories, covering emerging exercise professionals, individuals delivering exercise, businesses providing fitness services and community exercise programs.
