Fleurieu Aquatic Centre is excited to launch the first Synchronised Swimming Club in South Australia. Synchronised swimming is a hybrid form of swimming, dance and gymnastics, consisting of swimmers (either solos, duets, trios, combos, or teams) performing a synchronised routine of elaborate moves in the water, accompanied by music. Synchronised swimming is great for people of all ages and abilities to work with qualified coaches to improve strength, endurance, flexibility, grace, artistry and precise timing, as well as exceptional breath control when upside down underwater.
Fleurieu Aquatic Centre offers Group Lessons which aims to develop skills through the Synchro Canada Star Manual starting at Level 1 and progressing through to Level 5
The recreational and pre-competitive program is designed for new swimmers of all ages to learn the basics of the sport. During the 45 minute training sessions, swimmers will practice synchro skills, learn basic routines in a 10 week Term. Coaches follow an international and accredited synchro training program based on the Star Levels, teaching skills of increasing difficulty, incorporating these into basic routines accompanied by music. On week 8 of every term is a display or an individual skills evaluation.
